The Beaver Colony is the
youngest section in the Scout Group. They are boys and girls aged
between 6 and 8 yrs old. The Colony is all about learning through fun
activities. A Beaver Scout has opportunities to make friends with
others, be part of a group, learn creative and practical skills. These
ideas are the backbone of delivering a Balanced Programme of activities.

Here at the 3rd Bridgend
the emphasis is on learning by having fun. The facilities at our Scout
Hall are excellent for running a Beaver Colony. In the summer evenings
we can use the safe and spacious car park to play games. In the longer winter evenings we hibernate in the hall. We learn about nature
and the environment; we use art and craft skills, we sing songs and have
a laugh. There's plenty to do. We have fun days and maybe a day at a
camp. We attend the Christmas Carol Service and the St. George's Day Service to renew
our promise. We have opportunities to meet new friends in our Colony and
the wider Scout Community.
